Kirk Humphreys is a TAP (gifted) mathematics teacher at Caruso Middle School in Deerfield, IL. He has been teaching for 15 1/2 years.
As an educator, Kirk prides himself in being an innovator and is constantly reinventing his math classroom. His classroom is a flipped classroom and gives the control of his classroom to the students to take responsibility in their own learning. He is always recreating his classroom to incorporate technology and always improving his classroom.
In addition to being a dedicated teacher, Kirk has received many awards, some of which include the Illinois Air Force Association Teacher of the Year in 2011 and the 10th District Exceptional Educator Leadership Award in 2015.
