Alison Dykman

Alison has been a high school French teacher for the past ten years. In her first year of teaching, she applied for a technology grant for a SmartBoard and found it invaluable to bringing the world into her classroom. From there, when new and promising technology became available, Alison has been the first to try it out. She tells her students they’ll be “guinea pigs” and they are partners in evaluating how the technology impacts their learning. Great tools stay in the rotation. The newest and best tool, promoting student voice, allowing students to complete performance tasks without the anxiety of speaking French , and encouraging student inquiry, is Recap. She is always open to collaboration, teaching and learning with her ever-growing PLN.
